White

What do you think of this? http://www.ironicsans.com/owmyeyes/
This fellow is trying to say that white text on black is a bad thing, but personally I don't like a blinding white screen with black text, particularly in a fairly dimly lit room where I tend to read peoples webpages. I have seen worse... deep blue text on black, that is almost impossible to read.

  1. I'm old school: I prefer white or green on black. Black on white is fine on paper (literally), but on monitors the white background is painfully bright.

I think there are far worse combinations, though - blue backgrounds were popular for a while ("I've got a colour monitor and I'm gonna use it!"), and I've seen some yellow and purple combinations at work that still give me nightmares...

  2. Ha yes, I had an Amstrad CPC 6128 years ago... 1986 actually.

It's default was yellow text on a blue screen.

I would change it to yellow on black, which I thought was a bit better, although the resolution still gave me headaches.
